Lesson 5 - Visual Canvas

Sometimes a stack of cards just isn't the right

shape for an idea

You need an open board where everything can go

anywhere

That's Canvas. Quick distinction

A card is a structured single item with a front and

back, great for notes and study material

A canvas is a free-form visual board with no front

or back, better for mind maps, brainstorming, and visual planning

Both live inside a stack side by side

Open a stack and click Add New Canvas, the light

bulb icon

Choose a starting template and a blank canvas opens

instantly

Give it a name in the top left corner and you're

ready to go

Click the white plus button or just double-click

anywhere on the canvas to drop in a quick text

block

Type, drag it wherever you like, and resize from

the corner

Want more than a quick note? The blue plus button

adds a full NoteDex card right onto the canvas, and

that card is automatically saved into the stack

too, so you can build something more detailed

later

You can also use your pen to brainstorm with your

stylus

Already have cards you've written? Open the side

panel to browse every card in this stack or any

stack and insert them straight onto the canvas

Once you've got a few cards created, turn on

Connector Mode in the toolbar and click one card

then another to draw a line between them

Perfect for mapping relationships or a process

flow

When you're done brainstorming, the canvas menu

lets you export everything back out as full index

cards in your stack, so a messy brainstorm can turn

into a clean, organized deck

Or export as an image or text

Canvas is where ideas go before they're organized

or where you create visual order from your cards

Your choice. Next, let's let AI build your first

stack for you in seconds
