Account, Billing & Subscription

This page covers subscription management, how to cancel, how to delete your account, and how to change your password.


Free Trial

When you first sign up for NoteDex, a 7-day free trial begins automatically — no credit card required. You can use all features during the trial period.


Subscription Options

NoteDex is available as:

  • Monthly subscription — billed each month, cancel any time.
  • Annual subscription — billed once per year, lower monthly cost.
  • Lifetime licence — a one-time payment for permanent access on all devices. A limited-time price applies — check https://www.notedexapp.com/plans-and-pricing for current pricing.

Student / EDU Discount

A 50% discount is available for students and educators. Verify your student status on the pricing page and purchase via the web — discount codes cannot be applied through the App Store or Google Play.


> Important: Discount codes only work on Windows/Web purchases via Stripe. Always purchase via the web if you have a code.


Managing Your Subscription

How you manage your subscription depends on the platform you used to purchase.


Windows & Web (Stripe)

Purchases on Windows and the web use Stripe as the payment system.

  • To manage or cancel your subscription: click your user name / Hi NoteDex link in the top-right of the Home page.

  • The User Information panel appears with two options:

  • Customer Portal (blue link) — opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel your subscription, update payment details, and view billing history.
  • Request Account Deletion (red link) — cancels your subscription AND permanently deletes all your NoteDex data.

> After cancellation via Customer Portal: your license is revoked (no new cards can be added) but your existing data is kept for up to 1 year.


iOS / Mac (Apple App Store)

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are managed by Apple.

  • To cancel: go to your Apple ID → Subscriptions → find NoteDex → Cancel.
  • NoteDex does not have access to your Apple billing — we cannot cancel it on your behalf.
  • To delete your account data: use the Request Account Deletion option inside the NoteDex app.

Android (Google Play)

Subscriptions purchased through Google Play are managed by Google.

  • To cancel: open Google Play → Subscriptions → find NoteDex → Cancel.
  • NoteDex does not have access to your Google billing — we cannot cancel it on your behalf.
  • To delete your account data: use the Request Account Deletion option inside the NoteDex app.

Deleting Your Account

To permanently delete your account and all data:

  1. Go to the Home page and click Hi NoteDex (your name) in the top-right corner.
  2. In the User Information panel, click Request Account Deletion (shown in red).
  3. This cancels your subscription (if on Windows/Web) and schedules deletion of all your cards, stacks, and workspaces.

> This action is irreversible. Export a CSV backup first if you want to keep any data (in Settings)


Changing Your Password

This only applies if you signed up with a NoteDex account (email + password). If you signed in via Google, Microsoft, or Apple, your password is managed by them — reset it through their platform.


To change or reset your NoteDex password:

  1. On the login screen, click Forgot Password.
  2. Enter the email address linked to your NoteDex account.
  3. NoteDex emails you a verification code.
  4. Enter the code to verify your identity.
  5. Set your new password.

Migrating from Index Cards (Previous App)

If you were a user of Index Cards for Windows (the previous app), you can log in to NoteDex using the same account credentials you used before. Your previous cards will be visible in read-only mode, and there is an option inside the app to extract the text and convert them into full NoteDex cards.
